and if it rains at all they will shut off 100% of the flow

   so…

NO LLELA THIS WEEKEND

20150117_114044

We looking at the 25th for a makeup date pending the

weather and water folks!

We will get back to you with more details!

S4 report from the windy side of WRL…+

It    was      that      time      again

20150314_092017

and       yes     we     did it ….AGAIN

20150314_112531

with the help and support of a few of our friends !!!!

And we had some special support this time too

the

ACA

dba The American Canoe Association

to be exact we had the President of the ACA

helping us clean up White Rock Lake!!!

Thanks Anne you’re the BEST!!!

20150314_090734

And if you think that was cool, just wait!

Our ground crew had a BBQ and we were invited too!

20150314_120739

Thanks guys we really enjoyed the hot meal and the warm friendship and support too!

And guess what?

We had our own little girl scout moment..

It seems back in the spring of 14 we helped a group

with their 1st kayak experience and it was a S4 too!

These future leaders of the world had so much fun they

qualified to go paddle Queitco Canada and become even

better paddlers!!!

Way to go girls, in fact we stopped by

made our ahem…cookie donation to help them pay for the

trip of a lifetime north to find their inner paddlers!!!!

THESE GIRLS ROCK!

LLELA Report

this report is actually for the birds….

20150221_132857

We did see so much aviary activity it was crazy

G1218843

We saw……the normal birds including finches, black birds, dove, pigeon, blue jays, sea gulls, and cardinals

in addition we also saw several types of hawks, including red tail, broadwing and maybe a harris too.

We also saw a osprey in fact I think we saw a mated pair!

G1218839

It’s hard to see but this one has lunch in his or her talons too!

We also did the water birds blue heron, snowy egret and some of course the bittern and a couple of kingfishers too.

We we also graced with a horned owl close to the take out.

G1218903

but most odd was the mexican blackbirds and the blue herons in the same tree only at different levels…check it out below!

G1218913

Beside the off the chain birds on this trip we were also

treated to a armadillo too!

20150221_130446_001

We had a good time albeit a little crisp, however a quick hike to the methane plant and we warmed up quickly!

Thanks to WM for recycling too!

20150221_121558

20150221_111512

Not only that but it also started us on a fossil and skeleton

part of the trip, thanks to Bruce and his keen eyes!

G1218936

We need help with both of these so if your into this please

help we need your expertise in identifying the animals…

No not these animals!

20150221_124504

…. the remains of

these animals…

20150221_14371920150221_143730

We know the left is a spinal bone

we stumped on the type of animal and also the

skull has us wondering….

20150221_123524

Join us in March for the next
